I was approached by a known individual who was signing a new residential lease agreement with the property's landlord. The document was an electronic document created on the Zillow website and signed electronically by both parties. The document also did not include the Notary certificate wording for me to sign and stamp. Both parties were present. After identifying the signers, can they re-sign the printed version of the documents with physical signatures? Can I then notarize the written signature and attach a separate Notary certification form? — S.D., Florida
Yes, you can have the signers sign the documents that were previously electronically signed with a wet signature. Since there is no notarial certificate, you may complete and attach a notarial certificate after asking the signers what type of certificate should be attached.
