Can I accept an expired driver's license as ID if the photo resembles the bearer?

Is it permitted in my state to accept an expired license as proof of the signer’s identity if the picture looks like the person?A.H., North Carolina

No. North Carolina General Statutes 10B-3(22) requires a “current” ID.
