Is there a way to find out how many pages are in different loan packages before accepting a loan signing assignment? For example, how many pages is a typical refinance versus a cash-out or other loans? I have to know if I’m printing out a very large document and if I need to include additional copy for client, in order to judge whether the pay is worth it or if I need to budget for extra toner and paper. — L. Unfortunately, it is not possible to determine the exact number of pages in a loan signing package in advance. Loan packages vary in size by lender and type of loan (purchase, refinance, HELOC, reverse mortgage, etc.). We suggest that you speak with other Notaries who handle loan signings for ballpark figures. We suspect that they will tell you to budget for a laser printer that has the capacity of a high monthly page load, extra toner cartridges, and reams of paper in both letter and legal size. Please see our article on Signing Agent printer tips for more information.
