How Should I Sign My Name When Completing A Notarization?

New Hotline Resized 3

When completing a notarization, how should I sign my name? T.M., Texas

A Texas Notary must sign their name exactly as shown on their commission as issued by the Secretary of State (Gov’t Code 406.016[b]).

Hotline answers are based on the laws in the state where the question originated and may not reflect the laws of other states. If in doubt, always refer to your own state statutes. – The Editors
