New Hotline Resized 3A customer has asked for documents to be notarized and said he needs to obtain an apostille. Are there any special requirements for notarizing a document that requires an apostille?   M.K., Wyoming

No, there are no special requirements for the Notary. You simply follow the regular procedures to notarize the person’s signature properly. It is up to your signer to make arrangements to obtain an apostille from the Wyoming Secretary of State.

Hotline answers are based on the laws in the state where the question originated and may not reflect the laws of other states. If in doubt, always refer to your own state statutes. – The Editors
