I am Notary commissioned in Clay County, Missouri. When I notarize documents, do I indicate the county I am commissioned in or the county I am performing the Notary act? – S.D., Missouri
The name of the county you enter in your notarial certificate always must be the county where you performed the notarization.
Hotline answers are based on the laws in the state where the question originated and may not reflect the laws of other states. If in doubt, always refer to your own state statutes. – The Editors
