Training Is On Agenda For America's Realtors And Notaries

With the housing market facing its most challenging period since the Depression, America’s Realtors are embracing the notion that more training and professional certifications will help them serve their clients better, according to a recent survey by the National Association of Realtors (NAR). The same lesson applies to America’s Notaries.

According to the survey, the number of Realtors obtaining additional training has jumped more than 50 percent a year for the past two years, demonstrating the importance NAR members place in improving their education. NAR offers six special certifications and more than a dozen professional designation programs.

Paul Bishop, NAR vice president of research, said in a statement that the association’s education programs give its members additional expertise and enable them to “serve the specialized needs of their clients.”

For Notaries, additional training and certifications are just as important given our current economic and political climate. That is especially true for Notaries working in the housing market. Notaries who obtain the NNA Certified Notary Signing Agent® or Trusted Notary designations will demonstrate a higher level of professional skill and integrity at a time when many notarizations have been called into question.
