Voters Support Notary Advocates In November Elections

VoteThumb.jpgTwo longtime supporters of notarial best practices — Montana Secretary of State Linda McCulloch and North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine Marshall — were chosen by voters to continue serving as their states’ top Notary-regulating officials in the November 2012 elections.

Under McCulloch’s leadership, Montana enacted its first notarial journal requirement in 2009. A strong supporter of Notary education, she also organized the first statewide conference for Notaries in May 2012.

Marshall was honored in 2006 with the NNA’s March Fong Eu Achievement Award for her efforts in implementing tougher identification requirements for notarization along with comprehensive statutes to govern the performance of electronic notarizations in North Carolina.
