Webinar Offers Confidence In Completing Certificates

Registration is now open for the NNA’s much anticipated Webinar — titled “How to Complete Notarial Certificates Right the First Time” — a session that will train Notaries and employers on best practice methods to eliminate costly errors, which often lead to compliance or liability issues.

The Webinar, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Eastern time (10:30 a.m. Pacific time) on April 13 is offered at no charge to NNA members. It is the latest the latest in a continuing series of live sessions, presented by NNA Vice President William A. Anderson, who has been offering specialized online guidance on subjects ranging from Notary basics to the finer points of Notary Signing Agent practice.

Incomplete or inaccurate certificates can cause a document to be rejected by the receiving agency, and could result in the transaction being invalidated, and disciplinary action against a Notary and possibly the Notary’s employer. A recent Colorado report, for example, cited certificate error as playing a role in nearly 10 percent of the disciplinary cases against Notaries in that state last year.

The webinar will focus on common questions and situations, including certificates that are pre-filled by the lender with incorrect information, unfamiliar or completely foreign wording, wording that requires you to perform an unauthorized act and what to do when there’s no room for your seal.

Members can view the live or archived Webinars on both PC and Mac-based computer systems using any up-to-date Web browser.
