I am a Pennsylvania Notary, and our company is moving to Ohio. Can I still use my Pennsylvania commission in Ohio or do I have to re-apply in the new state? — P.J., Pennsylvania
No, you would not be able to use your old commission because a Pennsylvania Notary’s jurisdiction is for that state only. You would need to apply for a new Notary commission in your county of residence in the state of Ohio.
Hotline answers are based on the laws in the state where the question originated and may not reflect the laws of other states. If in doubt, always refer to your own state statutes. – The Editors
