USCIS Revises I-9, Holding Webinar For Notaries

USCIS Revises I-9, Holding Webinars For Notaries

Updated 10-31-17. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services released a revised Form I-9, and has scheduled a new webinar for November 9, 2017, to brief Notaries about the changes.

The updated Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification incorporates minor changes from the version released last year.

It is helpful for Notaries to understand the new form because businesses often ask them to act as their authorized representatives to complete the form on their behalf.

The 30-minute webinar is offered at no charge, and any Notary may participate.

The webinar will start at 1:00 p.m. EST (10:00 a.m. PST). To join the meeting, click the link provided to the NNA about 15 minutes before it starts and dial the toll-free number 866-928-2008. Use the Participant Code 132033.

If you have never attended an Adobe Connect meeting before, you should test your connection by clicking this link.

Michael Lewis is Managing Editor of member publications for the National Notary Association.

I attended the "Form I-9 Highlights" seminar today, 11/09/17, presented by "Dave." I need proof of my attendance to show to my supervisor (another attendee asked, as well). Dave said he had no way to do that. Would there be some way that someone at the National Notary Association could send me an email or a certificate of some kind to prove my attendance? The supposed 30-minute session lasted one hour, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. ET. I need this verification to back up my CEUs. Thank you very much!

Hello Vicki. We're sorry, but we do not have a way to provide you with attendance verification since the seminars are provided by USCIS.
