Minnesota Notaries Get A Significant Raise

Super-Increase-resized.jpg2014 has been a busy year for states raising the amount Notaries can charge for their services. Minnesota is the newest state, raising fees its Notaries may charge effective August 1.

Under new legislation signed this month, Minnesota Notaries may increase their maximum fee for Notary services from $1 to $5 — the first change in the state’s Notary fee schedule since 1986.

Minnesota follows in the footsteps of other states boosting their permitted Notary fee schedules this year, including Maryland, West Virginia and Wyoming — and other states have pending legislation in the works as well.
