Hotline Tip: Fees For Notarizing Simple Documents

Hotline Tip Use This One

What is the maximum amount I can charge for notarizing a simple document, such as a signature on a letter? – E.M., Brooklyn, NY

The maximum fee you can charge as a New York Notary is $2 per signature.

Hotline answers are based on the laws in the state where the question originated and may not reflect the laws of other states. If in doubt, always refer to your own state statutes. – The Editors
