Federal agencies and state governments throughout the nation are working to curb identity fraud by creating more secure, universally reliable ID cards — an initiative that will help Notaries perform their identity vetting duties more effectively. But not all states are on board. Iowa’s Department of Transportation (DOT) recently announced it will no longer accept out-of-state licenses to verify the identity of driver’s license applicants, effective August 5.
