Notary Signing Agents come into possession of a borrower’s non-public personal identifying information (NPII) during an assignment to provide signing services. Primarily, NPII is contained in several documents in the closing loan package, including the loan application, PATRIOT Act Customer Information Program form, and IRS forms. NPII also may be recorded in a Notary Signing Agent’s journal of notarial acts and may be included in electronic communications between the Agent’s contracting company.
