Analysis

House Bill 4504 makes a non-substantive statute reference change to the Government Code related to a Notary's exemption from the requirement to record certain oaths in their journals. The exempted oaths pertain to criminal complaints in the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure. HB 4504 revised and modernized the Code of Criminal Procedure. One of the changes was to assign a new chapter number to Chapter 45. Thus, the article on criminal complaints was transferred from Article 45.019 to new Article 45A-101.
