Summary

Analysis

Senate Bill 166 initiated a terminology change throughout the Oregon Revised Statutes. It changes the term used for persons permitted to practice law in Oregon from member of the State Bar to licensee of the State Bar. The Staff Measure Summary of the bill says of the change, “Being a member could have different implications that being a licensee, in relation to a person’s freedom of association rights.”
