Analysis

House Bill 1637 adds the U.S. Space Force to many sections of the Indiana Statutes that list military branches. The Space Force, the newest of the six armed forces of the United States, was established on December 20, 2019. The Force is responsible for organizing, training, and equipping space forces to protect U.S. and allied interests in space and provide space capabilities to the joint force. The Space Force is part of the Air Force. House Bill 1637 amends the recognition statute in the Indiana Statutes. It recognizes notarial acts performed both within and outside the United States by certain active service commissioned officers of the Space Force.
