  1. Raises the Notary commission/examination fee from $75 to $95.
  2. Raises the fee to retake the examination within 30 days of the first test from $30 to $40.
  3. Sets the following fees for apostilles and authentications: (a) $20 per apostille or certificate of authentication; and (b) $10 per apostille or certificate of authentication for an adoption. 
Analysis

As part of a larger state budget bill, Notary examination fees will be raised for the coming year. There is a $20 increase in the examination fee and a $10 increase in the retake examination fee. The budget bill set fees for apostilles and certifications issued by the Lieutenant Governor's office on notarized documents destined for other states and countries.
