Changes
  1. Makes minor, technical changes that do not affect the sense or interpretation of the statute.
Analysis

Periodically the reviser of statues makes corrections to all 29 California Codes. These corrections are usually minor in nature and do not affect the meaning of the statute. In the current Civil Code Section 1185 for example, a foreign passport constitutes satisfactory evidence of identity if it has been stamped by the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service. The amendment now reads “United States Citizenship and Immigration Services of the Department of Homeland Security.” This change reflects the realignment of the BCIS under Homeland Security made during the former president George W. Bush administration.
