CA Assembly Bill 1023

Legislation

State: California
Signed: September 20, 2011

Effective: January 01, 2012
Chapter: 296

Summary

Assembly Bill 2023 makes a non-substantive technical correction to Civil Code Section 1195.

Affects

Amends Civil Code Section 1195.

Changes

Makes non-substantive technical correction to Civil Code Section 1195 by placing subsections (a)1, 2 and 3 in parentheses (and so that they now read (a)(1), (2) and (3).

Analysis

Existing law directs the Legislative Counsel to advise the Legislature from time to time as to legislation necessary to maintain the codes. Assembly Bill 1023 makes nonsubstantive changes to Civil Code Section 1195. In this case, the change is simply placing subsections (a) 1, 2 and 3 in parentheses to reflect the outline style of the California codes. Note: As this bill was making its way through the legislature at the same time as Assembly Bill 75, which also amended the same section of the Civil Code, the new changes to the statute introduced by AB 75 and which take effect January 1, 2012, are not reflected in the bill text of AB 1023.
