Analysis

The purpose of SB 17-294 (see Section 121 of the bill text below) is to correct the effective date of Senate Bill 17-132, the Revised Uniform Law on Notarial Acts. When SB 17-132 was enacted, it specified August 9, 2017 as the effective date. However, given that SB 17-132 replaces Colorado's existing Notary statutes, a delayed effective date was sought. SB 17-294, therefore, makes the effective date for SB 17-132 July 1, 2018.
