Breaking news! On July 11, 2012 the Consumer Protection Financial Bureau (CPFB) released proposed rules required under the federal Dodd-Frank Act of 2010 to combine certain disclosures that consumers receive when applying for and closing on a mortgage loan under the Truth in Lending Act and the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act. The CPFB is proposing new forms that will be included in every loan package Notary Signing Agents handle.
