NNA Seminar Instructors

Our NNA Seminar Instructors are commission Notaries that have been rigorously trained and tested in notarial laws and best practices.


Laura Biewer

Laura Biewer
Laura is a Seminar Instructor for the National Notary Association where she is certified to train Notaries in California and Arizona. In this role, Laura has facilitated Notary education training for over 5,000 Notaries since 2009. Owner of At Your Service Mobile Notary since 2004, she has been a Certified Notary Signing Agent since 2006, and was a NNA Notary of the Year special honoree in 2009. She frequently is a featured guest speaker on the Notary’s roles and responsibilities at many events, including a state paralegal conference and in-service training to hospice staff. Biewer holds a B.A. from the University of Redlands.

Pat Clark

Pat Clark
In 2010, Pat became member of the NNA seminar instructional team. During this time, Pat has trained over 2,000 notaries statewide on California notary laws and best practices. She retired from United Airlines after a 35 year career as a flight attendant, trainer and instructor. During that time Pat was also taught Travel and Tourism classes at Mesa College in San Diego. After retiring from the airline industry, she became actively involved with TIP (Trauma Intervention Program) as a volunteer and dispatcher and joined Community Action Partnership as a mediator in county courts. Pat holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Redlands in Business Administration and is also certified in conflict resolution, mediation and negotiation as well as vocational instruction.

Amity DeJong

Amity DeJong
Amity DeJong has been a seminar instructor for the National Notary Association since 2013. In that year, she has trained over 1,000 Notaries in California and has an exam passing rate average of 94%. Amity’s passion for helping people achieve goals has been the driving force of her 20 year teaching career. She brings her experience of educating all aged learners to her notary seminars. As an independent contractor for Herff Jones, Amity trained teachers and facilitated workshops around the state of California. Currently, Amity is also expanding her training skills to include coaching triathletes who fundraise for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. She received her B.A. in Psychology and Education from James Madison University in 1994.

Suzanne Irving

Suzanne Irving
Suzanne Irving brings her strong communication background to the NNA. She has worked for several years in ESL instruction, where she has enjoyed interacting with adult learners of diverse cultures and levels. Previously to her career as a teacher, she worked as a professional theatre actor for over 20 years, focusing mainly on classic plays at theatres such as the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and the California Shakespeare Festival, among many others. Suzanne holds a BA from UC Santa Barbara, an MFA from the University of Washington’s Professional Actor Training Program, and a certificate in TESL instruction from UC Berkeley extension.

Stacey Johnson

Stacey Johnson
Stacey Johnson began her career as a notary and trainer while working on the Fox Studio lot in the Legal Affairs Department. She holds a degree in Communications from the University of Southern California and her corporate experience includes employee training and development, executive coaching, management consulting, process improvement and organizational development. A life-long learner, Stacey recently achieved the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance Certification (CPLP) and is also MBTI certified (Myers Briggs Type Indicator). Stacey believes learning should be fun and likes to engage students by using an interactive training style in the seminars. In her spare time, she likes to travel and so far has visited 14 countries . . . and counting. Stacey has been a certified NNA Seminar Instructor since December, 2012.

Beth Page

Beth Page
Beth Page joined the NNA as a Seminar Instructor in January 2012. She is a graduate of Fresno Pacific University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Organizational Development, a Master’s degree in Organizational Studies, and a credential in education. When not teaching live training seminars throughout California, Beth also works as a consultant for the NNA Hotline team to support notaries nationwide.

Susi Sivkov

Susi Sivkov
Susi began her career with the NNA as a Seminar Instructor in 2004. This training opportunity took her north to Alaska, south to Florida, and to 17 other states in between to facilitate live trainings on new laws, notary best practices, and loan signing agent courses. Susi has also provided support for NNA’s Notary Hotline, website presentations, and curriculum development. In 2006, Susi relocated for a year to Pennsylvania to provide NNA support in Pennsylvania’s Electronic Notarization Initiatives where she had the opportunity to assist in coordinating the execution of the first fully electronic property sale there. Susi continues to facilitate over 125 seminars each year for the NNA and taught well over 10,000 notaries in her career. She received her B.S. in Elementary Education in 1995 from Kentucky Christian University and received an additional certificate in Early Childhood Education.

Michael Wilson

Michael Wilson
A seminar instructor since October 2014, Michael is the newest member of our team. He brings his extensive experience in education to the National Notary Association. Michael received his bachelor's degree from UC Santa Barbara and a master's degree from Cal State Fullerton. For the past 15 years, he has been an instructor at several community colleges throughout southern California where he has taught history and participated in the online and hybrid instructional programs. Prior to joining the National Notary Association, Michael interned at NATO headquarters in Brussels, Belgium and was a contributing member of the World Affairs Council of Orange County. When he is not teaching, Michael is working on his sailing certification.
