National Notary Foundation Offering Free NNA 2013 Workshops To Veterans

Veterans from all branches of the military are being offered free Notary training courses at the National Notary Association’s 2013 Conference in Austin, Texas, June 2-5. On “Texas Veterans Day” Monday, June 3, two options are being offered: training required to become either a Notary, or a Notary Signing Agent.

At the conclusion of the free Notary training course, veterans will be able to take the state exam and continue the process of becoming a Texas Notary Public. Those who took the free NSA training will be offered a special discount on the certification exam and background screening. The training, which will help vets earn extra income or discover a new full-time career, is offered courtesy of the National Notary Foundation, the philanthropic division of the National Notary Association.

On Monday, June 3, veterans may attend one of two training sessions: a new Notary workshop that will enable them to handle the duties of the Notary Public office, and the Certified Notary Signing Agent (NSA) training, during which they will learn how to handle loan signings for major mortgage lenders. Those Texas veterans who complete the NSA certification session may choose to take the NSA exam and undergo the required background screening to complete their certification for a discounted fee.

That evening, vets are also invited to attend an NNA networking event and meet face-to-face with representatives from major lenders and title companies who will be on hand to answer questions and recruit applicants for Notary Signing Agent jobs.

Pre-registration is necessary. Veterans that want to take advantage of this opportunity can call 1-800-876-6827 or email veterans@nationalnotary.org to pre-register and learn more. On the day of the event, registrants will need to provide one of the following:

  • Veteran’s Identification Card (VIC) issued by the Department of Veteran Affairs
  • Texas Driver’s License bearing a Veteran designation
  • A copy of DD Form 214
  • Certification of Veteran Status

Since 1997, the National Notary Foundation has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to make a positive difference in people’s lives, and has now extended this offer as a thank-you to the nation’s veterans who have served to protect our country. Space is limited, so please help spread the word. If you know of someone who would benefit from this unprecedented opportunity, have them call the toll- free number or email us today. For all you other Notaries, the Conference is filling up fast. Don’t delay your own Conference registration.
