Becoming a Texas Notary Starts Here

We've got you covered! Get the supplies and support needed to succeed as a Texas Notary Public.

Bonds and E&O policies are issued by Merchants Bonding Company (Mutual). NNA Insurance Services, LLC (California License #0668915) is the agent for all bonds and policies. The coverage under any issued policy will be determined solely by that policy’s terms and conditions, regardless of anything stated here to the contrary. Your commission number, if applicable, and the dates your commission starts and ends are required to activate your policy.

What to expect after purchasing your Notary package

Here’s how you can make your commissioning process go smoother once we start processing your order.

Before you apply
to the state

  • We’ll email you your surety bond, which you’ll need to submit online with your application form.
  • You'll receive supplies that don't require commission verification, like the journal and Notary law Primer (if purchased).
  • Review these materials to learn journal requirements and Texas Notary laws to ensure accurate, compliant notarizations.

After your commission
is approved

  • Contact the NNA to provide proof of commission to manufacture your Notary seal stamp and activate your E&O insurance policy (if purchased).
  • Bring your commission certificate to a Texas Notary or an authorized official and sign it under oath to get sworn in.
  • Receive your Notary stamp by mail and E&O insurance (if purchased) by email from the NNA.
