Arkansas Notary Requirements
- Check eligibility requirements: You must be at least 18 years old, a citizen or permanent legal resident of the U.S., a legal resident of Arkansas*, and able to read and write English.
A revoked Notary Public commission in the past 10 years or felony conviction disqualifies you from becoming an Arkansas Notary.
- Pass the Notary exam: Create an account on the Arkansas Secretary of State website to take the exam. A passing score is required to access the Notary Public application form.
- Get your commission from the state: Allow 2-4 weeks for the Arkansas SOS to process your application and commission you as a Notary Public.
