Notary Seal Or Embosser For Alabama Notaries?

New Hotline Resized 3I received my Notary stamp, but I did not receive a seal embosser. Is a seal embosser required in Alabama?  J.S., Alabama

No, an embosser is not required in Alabama. You may use either an embosser or an inking stamp as your official seal. (COA 36-20-72.)

Hotline answers are based on the laws in the state where the question originated and may not reflect the laws of other states. If in doubt, always refer to your own state statutes. – The Editors
