What to know when renewing as a Notary in Nevada

  • Check your eligibility. You must be 18 or older, a resident of Nevada or live in a bordering state while working in Nevada, and have your civil rights restored if previously convicted of a felony. You also cannot currently hold a public office in the U.S. federal government or have had a Notary commission revoked in another state.
  • Meet the state’s training and exam requirement. As part of your renewal process, you’ll need to complete training and exam with the state.
  • Submit all your required documents. After completing your training and passing your exam, submit your bond to the county clerk to receive a filing notice. Then, submit your filing notice with your Nevada Notary renewal application, filing fee, and training certificate to the Secretary of State.
