For more than 30 years at the NNA, Charles N. Faerber has been widely recognized as one of the nation’s foremost experts on Notary regulations, customs and practices. Mr. Faerber is the author of the U.S. Notary Reference Manual, now in its 11th edition, The NNA’s state Notary Primers, The Notary Home Study Course and served as drafting coordinator for the Model Notary Acts of 1984, 2002 and 2010, which have been enacted and adopted by over 40 U.S. states and territorial jurisdictions. He has appeared as an expert witness on notarization in court cases and testified before state legislative committees on bills affecting Notaries. Over the years he has been published extensively and, as Editor-at-Large, continues to contribute to the many NNA member publications, including The National Notary magazine and the Notary Bulletin, the NNA’s professional sections and in major law reviews.

Steven Bastian

Steven Bastian is an expert in Notary law and practice with 35 years of professional experience who has contributed significantly to shaping the National Notary Association’s strategic, education and member service initiatives. He is responsible for defining Notary standards of practice and setting learning objectives for the NNA’s education programs with particular emphasis on serving businesses that employ Notaries. Since joining the NNA in 1993, he has worked to develop a strong curriculum in notarial procedures, legal requirements and best practices. He also was instrumental in developing programs to help financial institutions comply with federal mandates.

William A. Anderson

William A. Anderson is one of the nation’s foremost authorities on Notary best practices, procedures and ethics in the mortgage industry and the real estate closing process. As the NNA’s Vice President of Best Practices and eNotarization, he oversees legislative affairs, Notary bond and insurance programs, and the organizations efforts to promote, professionalize, and elevate the Notary Public office. An expert in Notary law and technology, corporate Notary policies and legislative issues, he has created curriculum and presented Notary education courses in nearly 40 U.S. states. Mr. Anderson recently addressed the Texas Bankers Association at their 2011 Annual Security & Risk Management Conference on how Notaries help security managers mitigate risk and ensure legal compliance.
