Nevada Attorney Masto, NNA Donate Check To UNLV Women's Research Institute

Las Vegas, NV - March 14, 2013 – Today, Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto and William A. Anderson, Vice President of Best Practices for the National Notary Association (NNA) presented Dr. Joanne Goodwin, Director of Women’s Research Institute of Nevada (WRIN) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, a $1,000 check to support civic engagement programming for college students.

AG Masto received the NNA’s 2012 March Fong Eu Achievement Award for her dedication to protecting homeowners and consumers nationwide, and for acting as a model of conduct in the midst of the foreclosure crisis. Each year, the NNA makes a $1,000 contribution to the educational institution of the award winner’s choice.

“Attorney General Masto has shown unwavering dedication to remedying a nationwide crisis that has mortgage servicers rethinking their approach to the supervision and training of Notaries,” said Anderson. “In doing so, she has emerged as a beacon of strength and national leadership.”

“It is an honor for me to support outstanding programs that pave the way for female leaders,” said Masto. “I appreciate the NNA for providing this donation. Both organizations continue to improve lives through research and education.”

National Women’s History Month, which is celebrated annually in March, highlights the contributions of women to events and history and contemporary society.
