Obtain your state-required bond, official seal and supplies
The NNA will provide everything you need to renew your Missouri Notary commission, including your state-required Notary bond, official seal stamp and supplies. Download our Step-by-Step Checklist to renew your Missouri Notary Commission.

Complete your Missouri Notary application
Download your Missouri Notary Application and Written Notary Training Course. Complete the application and Written Notary Training Course and forward them to the NNA. Your $25 state application fee is included your package. A separate check is not required.

Renew your Missouri Notary commission
We will file your application with the Secretary of State and pay your state fee. When you have obtained your commission, scan and email a copy of your Commission Certificate to releasing@nationalnotary.org or fax to 1-800-833-1211.

Requirements to Become
a Missouri Notary

  • 18 years of age
  • Be a registered voter of the county within and for which the applicant is to be commissioned, or a permanent resident alien of the United States
  • Legally reside in the county in which the applicant seeks to be commissioned;
    non-resident applicants must be employed in Missouri, use of Notary seal only in the course of employment, have a work address in the county in which commission is sought and authorize the Missouri Secretary of State to accept services of process or other legal notifications on applicant's behalf
  • Non-residents working in the state may be commissioned
  • Must read, write and understand English
  • Not had a commission revoked during the past ten years
  • No felony convictions
