How to Become an Oregon Notary in Three Easy Steps

Step 1 Obtain your state-required supplies and complete your training

The NNA will provide everything you need to become a Notary in Oregon, including your official seal stamp, journal and supplies. Your state-required training is included with each package option. 

Step 2 Complete your Oregon Notary application
Download your Oregon Notary Public application.  Then follow the instructions on the Oregon Secretary of State website.

Step 3 Become an Oregon Notary

When you have obtained your commission, scan and email a copy of your Commission Certificate to releasing@nationalnotary.org or fax to 1-800-833-1211.

Requirements to Become
an Oregon Notary

  • 18 years of age
  • Non-resident OK if employed in Oregon
  • Must read, write and understand English
  • Be of good moral character
  • No felony convictions or lesser offense incompatible with duties of Notaries in
    previous 10 years
  • Not had a Notary commission revoked in previous 10 years
