Valera To Help Foundation Educate The Pubic About Our Nation’s 30th President And Promote His Non-Partisan Legacy Of Integrity, Impartiality and Civility
LOS ANGELES, August 24, 2011-- The National Notary Association, the leader in best practices, training, and advocacy for the nation’s 4.8 million Notaries, is pleased to announce that the Calvin Coolidge Memorial Foundation (CCMF) has elected NNA President Milt Valera to its distinguished Board of Trustees — the only representative on the board from the western United States.
The CCMF, which is dedicated to educating the public about our nation’s 30th President, elected Valera in recognition of his decades-long efforts to promulgate Coolidge’s legacy of integrity, impartiality and civility among the nation’s largest and most diverse group of public servants: Notaries Public. The NNA has supported the mission of the CCMF for many years and, in 2010, it published a collection of essays penned by distinguished American thought leaders titled “Why Coolidge Matters: How Civility in Politics Can Bring a Nation Together.”
Coolidge’s ethics and integrity have been revered for decades, and many prestigious national figures — including former First Lady Nancy Reagan and former U.S. President Jimmy Carter — have worked with the Foundation, located in Plymouth Notch, Vermont. Valera looks forward to raising the national awareness about Calvin Coolidge and, particularly, helping the CCMF extend its reach and influence in the western U.S.
“It will be a special privilege to represent the 4.8 million Notaries Public in the United States as a Trustee of the CCMF,” Valera said. “I look forward to actively working with all Trustees to advance the Foundation’s mission and make Americans aware and appreciative of the legacy and invaluable contributions of President Coolidge.”
The NNA’s philanthropic arm, the National Notary Foundation, has also established a Coolidge Notary Memorial Fund which benefits the CCMF to help promote and preserve Coolidge’s legacy.
