NNA 2016 Offers Complimentary Notary Training For Veterans

NNA 2016 Notary training for veterans

To say thank you for the service of our military personnel, the National Notary Association will be offering complimentary Notary training for veterans on Monday, June 6 at NNA 2016 in Anaheim, California.

The complimentary Notary training — fully funded by the National Notary Foundation (NNF) — provides honorably discharged veterans with the state-mandated education course to apply for a California Notary commission and help open new career opportunities as they transition to civilian life.

The training is open to honorably discharged California veterans who do not currently hold a Notary commission, and will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Orange County. Seating is limited to 30, so veterans are encouraged to register early. Registrants should bring the following identification the day of the event:

  • A valid Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (DD-214) required to prove veteran status
  • A current state-approved identification card, passport or U.S. Military I.D. Card (paper extensions cannot be accepted)

Veterans will also have the additional option of taking the state Notary exam onsite by paying a $40 fee.

Questions can be emailed to our customer service team at Veterans@NationalNotary.org.

David Thun is an Associate Editor at the National Notary Association.

Should rethink offering this every year because we are veterans everyday. Served proudly and even as old as I am willing to serve again and give my life for you all.

Hello I am a 100% service connected disabled veteran and I would like to get my notary and notary signing agent courses however I don't really have the funds to pay for them myself and I wanted to know if the VA will help to pay for my training thank you so much I appreciate your help

Hi Jessica, thank you for reaching out. The VA can pay for a Notary and their education, as long as they use a credit card or check by mail. If the account needs to be marked as a tax-exempt account, we would need additional documents to set up the account.
