National Notary Association Opens 2012 Notary Of The Year Award Call For Nominations

Los Angeles, California - September 28, 2011

23rd Annual Award Recipient To Be Announced At NNA Conference 2012

LOS ANGELES, September 28, 2011-- The National Notary Association, the leader in best practices, training, and advocacy for the nation’s 4.8 million Notaries, has announced that the online nomination process for the 23rd annual Notary of the Year officially begins today. The Notary of the Year will be announced live at the NNA Conference 2012, to be held in San Diego, California, June 3-6.

The NNA’s Notary of the Year program recognizes Notaries whose actions and accomplishments go above and beyond their basic commissioned duty, and who have served to elevate the trust and integrity associated with the American Notary Public office. Nominations will be accepted through December 30.

“For more than two decades, the Notary of the Year honor has been presented to a Notary who demonstrates the highest levels of professional conduct and ethics to protect and serve the public,” said NNA Chief Executive Officer Marc Reiser. “We look forward to receiving nominations from every U.S. state and territory so that we may continue this tradition.”

Nominees must be an NNA Member in good standing, maintain an active Notary commission/license for at least 3 years, keep a journal of all notarial acts regardless of state regulations, and provide evidence of adherence to best practices and the highest ethical standards. They must also devote their energies to continuing education — either for themselves or for mentoring fellow Notaries — and dedicate themselves to advancing the American Notary office though advocacy and community service.

The top five finalists will be announced in the March issue of The National Notary magazine, and all will receive complimentary 2012 Conference registration, roundtrip airfare, and hotel stay at the event venue, the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina. The Notary of the Year will be revealed during an annual Gala Banquet on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, and will receive a handsome trophy, recognition in NNA publications, and a $1,000 scholarship from the National Notary Foundation to benefit the educational institution of their choice.
