Kathy Fletcher of Glendale, Arizona, was named 2013 Notary of the Year during the National Notary Association’s 35th Conference in Austin, Texas. The Notary of the Year program, now in its 23rd year, recognizes Notaries whose actions and accomplishments go above and beyond their basic commissioned duty and who serve to elevate the trust and integrity associated with the American Notary Public Office.
Fletcher was recognized at the NNA’s Gala Banquet for her efforts to advance the professionalism of the Notary Public office by selflessly mentoring new Notaries, encouraging continuing education and advocating for stronger notarial legislation. A partner in Arizona Document Signing, LLC, she handles real estate loan closings throughout the greater Phoenix area. She is heavily involved in assisting the senior community, volunteers with the Paseo Verde Church Women’s Ministry and is an active member of a local hiking organization.
Fletcher and the four other NOTY Finalists Carolyn Barton of Montana, Tonie Boaman of Texas, John Kenneth Cole of Virginia, and Marissa de Luna of California were chosen from among dozens of highly-qualified nominees nationwide.
Nominations for the 2014 Notary of the Year will be accepted starting this winter. Watch the Notary Bulletin and the NNA’s Facebook page for announcements. If you know of a highly qualified Notary who exemplifies the qualities of this honor, please submit a nomination and help us recognize that individual.
