Veterans Can Join The Ranks Of 4.4M American Notaries To
Protect Consumers On May 31 In Orlando
LOS ANGELES, April 15, 2015 – The National Notary Association (NNA) will provide complimentary Notary training for U.S. veterans during its 37th annual conference in Orlando, Florida. Fully funded by the National Notary Foundation – the NNA’s philanthropic arm – the vocational Notary training is designed to help veterans either enhance the skill-set they offer to employers or start a small business as a full-time mobile Notary. Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, a Notary Public himself, has proclaimed Notary Public Week 2015 to coincide with the conference.
“Simply put, Notaries protect Americans from real estate fraud, elder abuse and identity theft by making sure signers are who they say they are, as well as confirming they’re aware of – and willing to – sign vital documents like home loans and powers of attorney,” said NNA President and CEO Thomas Heymann. “Like veterans, Notaries need to follow strict rules as well as possess a high level of integrity to protect citizens and strengthen the fabric of American commerce.”
To help veterans get the most out of the program, the NNA will send a detailed information package with commission applications before the conference. Onsite, veterans will learn about the pivotal, but often overlooked, role Notaries play in several industries such as real estate finance, healthcare and the legal profession.
The training occurs on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek in Orlando. The full-day of activities will open with the “Florida State-Required Training” Notary class at 9:00 a.m. After the lunch break, those with an entrepreneurial spirit will learn how to “Start-Up & Run a Successful Notary Business” – a workshop tailored specifically for veterans. In addition to educational workshops and commission application aid from trained Notary professionals, veterans will have the opportunity to build business relationships with the Notary community and potentially find a mentor during the two-hour Welcome Reception starting at 5:00 p.m.
