The Notary Signing Agent Certification Process
The NNA's strengthened Notary Signing Agent Program now includes GLBA-compliant background screening and certification training. The credentials for this screening and training create the most valuable and trusted Signing Agent certification in the country.
If You Are Currently An NNA Certified Notary Signing Agent:
- It is recommended that you first complete a background screening as the initial step in the process.
- Go to NationalNotary.org/NSACertification, select the background screening only option, and follow the log-in and purchase instructions.
- You will then receive an e-mail with a link that takes you to the background screening Web page.
- Once you have entered your required personal information and have accepted all waivers and agreements, your information will be sent securely to the NNA's trusted, third-party background screening agency.
- Your background screening will typically be completed within five business days. You will be notified via e-mail of the results.
- If your results are favorable, your listing in the NNA's SigningAgent.com directory will be updated to reflect your certified and background screened status immediately.
To Become An NNA Certified Notary Signing Agent:
- The NNA offers a complete package that includes online or live Notary Signing Agent training, certification course book, online certification exam, and background screening.
- To enroll, go to NationalNotary.org/NSACertification and select either the live or online package.
- Once enrolled, you will receive an e-mail with a link that takes you to the background screening Web page.
- After you have entered your required personal information and have accepted all waivers and agreements, your information will be sent securely to the NNA's trusted, third-party background screening agency.
- Your background screening will typically be completed within five business days. You will be notified via e-mail of the results.
- Once you complete your NSA Training, course book, Certification exam, and background screening, you will become an NNA Certified Notary Signing Agent!
- You will also have a priority listing in the NNA's SigningAgent.com directory, used by companies across the nation to find qualified NSAs and to confirm their credentials.
