Eligibility
Minimum Age: 18 years of age
Minimum Residency: None
Exam: None
Other Requirements: First-time applicants must take a three-hour interactive or classroom course on notarial duties. One character witness. Non-citizen must submit a recorded declaration of domicile.

  • Order your Complete Notary Supply Package – which includes your State-required Notary Bond* and your State application fees.
  • Complete three hours of State-Required training from the NNA.
  • Submit your Notary Public and Bond Applications - enclosing a COPY of your Certificate of Training - to the NNA for processing.
  • We will activate your Notary Bond and file it with the State.

Florida Notary Bond ($7,500, 4 years) priced at $40.40 ($35.35 for NNA members). Florida $25,000/1-year Notary E&O Insurance priced at $15.15 ($12.12 for NNA members). Insurance products include mandatory 1% fee for Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund.

Pennsylvania Bonds and E&O policies underwritten by Nations Bonding Company, Austin, Texas (a subsidiary of Merchants Bonding Company [Mutual]); all other Bonds and E&O policies underwritten by Merchants Bonding Company (Mutual), Des Moines, Iowa. Agent for all Bonds and E&O policies is NNA Insurance Services, Inc. All rates subject to change without notice. Commission number and commission effective and expiration dates required prior to E&O insurance activation.


Name Change Procedures
Any notary public who lawfully changes his/her name during the term of the commission must request an amended commission within 60 days after such change. Please open and print the Amended Commission Instruction/Order form and Amended Commission Request Notice of Name Change form by clicking the link below. Please follow the instructions on the form to complete this state requirement for a lawful name change.
