Eligibility
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be a legal resident of Florida
  • Be able to read, write and understand English
  • Not have been convicted of a felony unless civil rights have been restored
  • Not hold any office of emolument under any foreign government, or civil office of emolument under the United States or any other state
 

Application and Bond Filing Procedures

  • Order your Complete Notary Supply Package (see "Become" and "Renew" links above) – which includes your State-required Notary Bond* and your State application fees.
  • Complete three hours of State-Required training from the NNA.
  • Submit your Notary Public and Bond Applications - enclosing a COPY of your Certificate of Training - to the NNA for processing.
  • We will activate your Notary Bond and file it with the State.

Florida Notary Bond ($7,500, 4 years) priced at $40.40 ($35.35 for NNA members). Florida $25,000/1-year Notary E&O Insurance priced at $15.15 ($12.12 for NNA members). Insurance products include mandatory 1% fee for Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund.


Name Change Procedures
Any notary public who lawfully changes his/her name during the term of the commission must request an amended commission within 60 days after such change. Please open and print the Amended Commission Instruction/Order form and Amended Commission Request Notice of Name Change form by clicking the link below. Please follow the instructions on the form to complete this state requirement for a lawful name change.
