How do I complete my Notary commission application?

I have had my Notary Public Commission form notarized. Do I need to send it somewhere?C.A., Texas

The oath of office is included on your Notary commission.  Once you have taken the oath of office before another Notary you may begin performing notarizations. The oath of office does not need to be sent anywhere once it has been completed – it is yours to keep for your records.

Hotline answers are based on the laws in the state where the question originated and may not reflect the laws of other states. If in doubt, always refer to your own state statutes. – The Editors

I am commissioned in New Mexico. I had to renew my commission this year during the pandemic. I also had to renew my NM driver's license. This is the problem. My driver's license lists my full name including my middle name (which I don't want to use), but because of that, my notary commission lists my middle name also. I want to eliminate my middle name from both places. Do I start at the motor vehicle department, or with the notary commission?

Hello. You will need to submit a name change request to the New Mexico Secretary of State. You can find the form and instructions here: https://www.sos.state.nm.us/notary-and-apostille/notary-commissions/notary-forms/.
