Notary Bulletin Military Connection: Dedicated To Helping Veterans By Joe Silva on July 02, 2014 in Building Your Business When service members transition into civilian life, they face the daunting task of starting their lives anew. Veterans are often left with many more questions than answers when it comes to finding employment. One of the resources available to vets is MilitaryConnection.com, which serves the military community by providing resources and information that help them succeed. Military Connection CEO Debbie Gregory explains that the company goes to great lengths to help promote events that provide employment opportunities for Veterans. Among its key strategies is collaborating with other companies and organizations. To that end, Military Connection was a proud media sponsor of the NNA 2014 Conference in June, which offered complimentary Notary training to vets. More than 100 veterans signed up for the training, which was funded by the National Notary Foundation. Last fall, Military Connection was a media sponsor for “Hire a Vet in BioTech” in Ventura County. Ms. Gregory was also a panelist for the conference. The company has built collaborative partnerships with other organizations, including Give an Hour, Fisher House, Habitat for Humanity, The Mission Continues, ThanksUSA, and many, many more. Gregory was inspired to found MilitaryConnection.com by her father and seven uncles, all of whom served in the military at the same time. Because of her father’s service-related disability, Gregory grew up frequenting VA medical facilities. Most of the staff members at Military Connection are either veterans or the family members of veterans. The main focus of the web-based organization is providing employment and education resources for veterans. There are thousands of employment opportunities on the Job Board and in the Virtual Job Fair. The company also offers information about each branch of the military, as well as the National Guard and the Reserve components. Active duty service members, military family members and potential military recruits can use the website to research base pay, incentive pays, housing allowances, branch specific forms and information, as well as educational information regarding ranks, installations and benefits. Military Connection has been named a Top 100 Employment Web Site by WEDDLE’s Guide and the International Association of Employment Web Sites for five years in a row. Moving forward, Military Connection looks to expand its network of employers, colleges, non-profit organizations and veterans in order to better serve the military community. Military Connection proudly serves those who serve and their families. Joe Silva is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and staff writer for Military Connection.
