The NNA Opens Nominations For 2012 Notary Of The Year; Recipient To Be Honored At Annual Conference

The online nomination process for the 23rd annual Notary Of The Year has begun, so nominate a respected fellow Notary, a stellar Notary employee or yourself for the NNA’s top honor. The deadline for nominations is December 30.

Following the nationwide nomination process, five finalists will receive invitations to attend Conference 2012 as special guests. The 2012 Notary of the Year will be announced live at the NNA’s Conference 2012, to be held in San Diego, California, June 3-6.

Nominees must be an NNA Member in good standing, maintain an active Notary commission/license for at least 3 years, keep a journal of all notarial acts regardless of state regulations, and provide evidence of adherence to best practices and the highest ethical standards. They must also devote their energies to continuing education — either for themselves or for mentoring fellow Notaries — and dedicate themselves to advancing the American Notary office though advocacy and community service.

Each of the top five finalists will be profiled in the March issue of The National Notary magazine, and they will receive complimentary Conference 2012 registration, round-trip airfare, and hotel stay. The Notary of the Year will then be announced in a formal presentation at the Conference’s Gala Banquet, on June 5, 2012, at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina. The recipient will receive a handsome trophy, national media exposure, and a $1,000 scholarship from the National Notary Foundation to benefit the educational institution of their choice.
