The acceptance of eNotarization got a big boost thanks to a report issued by the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization (MISMO), which reported that eNotes — electronically signed promissory notes central to the eMortgage process and the real estate market — are legal in all jurisdictions. The note legally identifies the lender and the terms of the loan.
