Working together with the Hague Conference on Private International Law and the International Union of Latin Notaries (IULN), the NNA is now helping to forge an international effort to make this important certificate available electronically as soon as possible. "Having electronic apostilles available could make the task of authenticating notarized documents internationally almost effortless," said Dr. Richard J. Hansberger, the NNA's Director of eNotarization. "Without apostilles, it may sometimes require many agencies and much additional paperwork to authenticate a notarized document that is sent between different countries. Even with paper apostilles, this process can sometimes get a bit cumbersome," Hansberger said.
