Vancura v. Katris Legal Opinion

If your organization employs Notaries, you should be aware of the new state laws that have changed the rules for every employer in Illinois. The impact of these new laws on businesses will be significant.

A recent Appellate Court ruling (Vancura V. Katris, December 26, 2008) expands the responsibility of employers to train and oversee the performance of their employee Notaries and holds Notaries accountable to perform at a standard beyond the requirements identified in statutes.
