Corporate PKI Non-Notary Digital Certificates

Overview

NNA Non-Notary Digital Certificates can be used by corporate officers, trusted employees, and any non-Notary requiring a secure electronic signature for electronic document processing.

Use NNA Non-Notary Digital Certificates to secure the exchange of information between organizations and individuals in any business or government application.

BASIC and MEDIUM SECURITY Level Certificates

Non-Notary Digital Certificates are offered in two SISAC security levels: BASIC or MEDIUM.

  1. BASIC Security Level Certificates
    Basic security level certificates are appropriate for documents requiring a secure electronic signature.

  2. Applicants must:
    • Mail a completed application and a photocopy of one form of state or federal photo identification.

  3. MEDIUM Security Level Certificates
    Medium security level certificates are appropriate for documents requiring a secure electronic signature or for transactions where identification of the party requires a greater degree of assurance.

  4. Applicants must:
    • Appear in-person before a Notary Public
    • Present one form of federal-government issued photo identification or two forms of state-issued photo identification to the Notary Public
    • Obtain notarization of the completed application
    • Mail the notarized application along with a photocopy of each form of I.D. that was presented to the Notary SISAC Accredited Digital Certificates

SISAC Accredited Digital Certificates

The Secure Identity Services Accreditation Corporation (SISAC) is a wholly owned non-profit subsidiary of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America (MBA) that develops and maintains industry standards for secure identity credentials to be used within e-mortgage related transactions, and accredits issuers of secure identity credentials against these same standards.

The NNA is a SISAC Accredited Registration Authority offering digital certificates to Notaries and non-Notaries.

Note: Electronic Notary Signatures and Corporate PKI non-Notary Digital Certificate cannot currently be installed on the new Microsoft Vista operating system. Vista installation compatibility is expected the final quarter of 2008.
