Celebrating The 2008 Notary Of The Year: Liz Adams

As the deadline nears for 2012 Notary of the Year nominations on December 30, the NNA takes a final look back at a past distinguished NOTY recipient. This week’s profile features 2008 Notary of the Year Liz Adams.

When Liz Adams of Florida was named the National Notary Association’s 2008 Notary of the Year, she was a successful Notary Signing Agent and one of the first Notaries in her state to perform eNotarizations.

She has since grown her business, and has nurtured another major aspect of her expertise: mentoring an ever-expanding community of new Notaries. When she became a Notary she had to rely upon herself to learn the ins-and-outs of her official duties, but her relationship with the NNA, and her recognition, has taken her passion for helping others to a new level.

“My door is always open,” Adams said. “I’m willing to help, and if I’m unable to answer a question, I always refer people to the NNA or to their state primer.”

The Notary of the Year distinction is something Adams is very proud of, and she firmly believes that Notaries should do what they do because they care about serving the public with integrity.

“Being a Notary is something I have a calling for,” said Adams. “The Notary of the Year honor came to me because I do what I do from the heart; not just for what I may get out of it. The Notary’s duty is all about public service.”
