On my Notary application, am I required to include my employer’s information if I plan on using my commission both at work and outside of work? Will doing so restrict me to only notarizing at work? – M.P., Pittsburgh, PA
While you are required to include your employer’s information on your application, doing so will not restrict you to only notarizing at your workplace. Your Notary commission is issued to you as an individual, and you can notarize whether you are at work or any other time, as long as you are within the borders of Pennsylvania.
Hotline answers are based on the laws in the state where the question originated and may not reflect the laws of other states. If in doubt, always refer to your own state statutes. — The Editors
